Case Study: Transformers: Dark Of The Moon

Transformers: dark of the moon was a film produced in 2011, the director of the film is Michael Bay, and he has produced all the other transformers film and has been a great success. Paramount pictures, Hasbro and di Bonaventura pictures, all co-produced transformers. Paramount pictures are one of the big six companies that dominate the US market when it comes to films, this is known as an oligopoly. Because paramount is such a large company it is easy for them to promote the film because of their high status profile.
In this film their isn’t really any really well-known actors, the main reason this is done is to probably save money, because Megan fox was booted out, it would be really expensive to have an extremely hot famous actress involved which could take her place perfectly. The main actors involved where, Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro and Tyrese Gibson. Famous actors also weren’t really needed because the main focuses are on the transformers themselves which are computer animated.
Transformers was distributed mainly by paramount pictures and also universal, this is because these are known as huge subsidaries and are involved in the oligopoly. united international pictures also played a big part. the budget for transformers was around 195 million dollars and it made a total worldwide gross of 1.1 billion dollars worldwide, this is incredible assuming the budget price, they did exceptionally well because of the fact they had such good producers.
it was shown on over 4000 screens(exhibition) the release date of the film was 29/6/12 UK.
