Shots And Angles

this is a famous medium close shot from the film taken, in this scene the character is on the phone to the kidnapper of his daughter and he says 'i will find you, and i will kill you' the shot of this scene is extremely effective because it shows the reality of the situation on his face, and his expression also shows how serious he actually is.

this is a close up shot from the film Avengers, this shot is effecftive because in the characters facial expression it shows his seriousness and concentration very well which is good for the audience to visualise.

in this short scene is another close up shot, a ginger shooter is shown close up aiming his gun towards his target, it is effective by showing his face fully because it clearly shows he is an evil character which is done effectively by looking at his facial expression, this clip isn't long but you can tell more clearly in the actual film.

this is a funny mid shot scene from the film Ali G, this scene he is singing to a woman, it is affective from being a mid shot because he has no trousers on below, which makes picturing the image a whole lot funnier for the audience.

this is a mid shot scene from the film anuvahood. this scene is affective because you can see hand gestures being made by the character(adam deacon), not just facial. this scene can also slightly establish the british setting, it shows the area around as typical british flats.

this is a long shot from the british movie This Is England, it is of the character gadget walking towards the group of skinheads, it is effective because it clearly shows him walking with beer under a bridge to a group of kids. it could be seen as stereotyping because in society teenagers are seen to be trouble and hanging around drinking alcohol. in this shot you can also see the background of the scene, it shows its a rough area from the type of housing and setting.

this is a long shot from the film 21 Jump Street. in this long shot you can clearly see the surrounding background and the police bike the character is getting onto, the movement of the character shows that he is nervous by the way he shakily gets onto his bike which is affective because he adds to the way the audience are supposed to look at this character as a person out of the norm.

this is another set of clips from the same film 21 jump street, however it is a variety of long shots and extra long shots. ELS are effective because it doesn't just show the whole of the character, it also clearly shows the setting and background so you can get an idea of the area etc. it is affective because it shows you interesting aspects in the scenes like full body expressions and movements to create impressions
